Help Darwin's Move

"Darwin's Burgers & Blues is not big and its not glitzy. It's a little old house bursting with good food and fantastic blues music. Founded in 1995, it was home of the blues in Atlanta. After it took an economic stumble in the early years of the 21st century, Lindsay Wine & Jonathan Akin purchased the venue in 2011, invested time and money, and brought the club back to its original juke-joint popularity. Today, Darwin's hosts the best local bands and the best touring acts coming through Atlanta. The jams during the week attract the best local musicians and allow new players to be heard. Because of the mix of young musicians and older, established groups, the club attracts people of all ages."
Based on what we have done over the last 5 years, we won a coveted Keeping the Blues Alive Award this year from the Blues Foundation in Memphis, TN. On December 31, 2016, we will party in the little house where it all started for the last time. After investing all of our money to bring the building back from being condemned, we are losing our current place and are moving to another space in Sandy Springs, GA. We are hoping that the new location will provide a larger space with more seating, a larger kitchen to accomodate an expanded food menu & a more centralized location to Atlanta with better parking for commuters. We are planning to extend business to Sundays and open every day for lunch!
But we need your help before we can open next year. The space that we are moving to has no equipment or furniture. We will need to purchase everything from sinks to fryers, ice bins to ice machines & rugs to pint glasses. Any small amount that you can give will help! Help us to continue the tradition of bringing the blues to Atlanta!
