Help Dave Get A Wheelchair Van
Dave Love was diagnosed with Progressive Multiple Sclerosis in 2014 but he was affected by symptoms for 10 years before that. He has been transferring in/out of his vehicle but this is no longer feasible since he has started using a wheelchair. He must transition to hand controlled driving in a wheelchair van.
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a neurodegenerative disease. It interferes with the brain's abilty to control the body. Progressive MS is very disabling, as the diseae is steadily progressive and is characterized by nerve damange and loss. The exact cause of MS is not know, and there is no cure for Progressive MS.
The "GoFundMe" fundraiser is to help Dave purchase a converted van. The ability for Dave to drive independently has a profound impact on him, and his young family. The estimated cost for a van with an in-floor ramp, lowered floor and driver's transfer seat is close to $85 000. Dave will be selling his present vehicle to contribute to the cost but the majority of the cost will still need to be covered. Dave hoped to raise the funding soon,
The Loves' are a young family, of Dave 44, Sara, his wife, and the girls, Sadies and Nora aged 11 and 8. Dave was born in Kingston, NB, and has lived there all his life.
Thank you for taking the time to read and share this. Every donation, large or small, will go a long way to help Dave and his family to purchase a converted van.
