Help E out while she recovers from anorexia
Donation protected
E has been suffering on and off with anorexia and related mental health conditions such as OCD for over 30 years. The situation has become urgent and she is now doing in inpatient services for an unspecified length of time - but it won't be a quick fix. She is unable to work at this point, and is now down to half-pay.
While she recovers from anorexia as an inpatient, E needs your help. Keeping things ticking over for one month (rent and bills) costs about £600. So we'd like to cover E for 4 months, meaning we need to raise £2,400.
If she is discharged earlier than this, or if we go way over target, money left over will be donated to the eating disorders unit where she is currently an inpatient. It is an award winning service with an excellent knowledge of the nature of anorexia and miraculously, a focus on distress and incapacity rather than weight, which means the treatment addresses the issues perpetuating someone’s ED. Sadly this service had been so badly decimated with cuts they are currently unable to run an outpatient service. E’s wait for a bed was five months (and this is a huge factor in needing to do the crowdfunder in the first place as she was off sick for some of this time); and the day service is also running a long waiting list. The treatment is excellent but sadly many people are only able to access this wonderful care in crisis, or become so unwell they are sent out of area whilst they wait.
THANK YOU SO MUCH.
