Help EC Pops in Ellicott City
Donation protected
I am writing this on behalf of Doug & Lance who are the small business owners of EC Pops & 17 Seventy Two - two of the many businesses catastrophically lost from the Ellicott City floods on May 27, 2018.
In 2016 the businesses in Ellicott City had lost their everything to the flood and they thought it would never happen again. They said it was a "1,000 year flood". Well, a 1,000 year flood happened less than 2 years later and their stores and investments into the local community have been completely wiped out.
It seemed to start off like any normal day in Historic Ellicott City. There was a lot of sunshine, and tourists as well as locals alike visiting the store. Then the rains came, and it didn't stop. The massive amount of rain fall created a flash flood. They watched from the second floor of their apartment, trapped, as all of their product and livelihood got swept away.
Thank goodness they are both safe, but they lost their entire livelihood in less than a few hours. Their business and home are gone.
Any contributions to help them get back on their feet would be greatly appreciated. They lost over $200,000 in the flood and their source of income. Any little bit will help.
