Help elect Alison Waters to Federal Parliament
Donation protected
Alison Waters is the Animal Justice Party candidate for Page, Northern NSW.
She has an academic background in Social Work and currently works at a regional women’s domestic and family violence service.
She is standing for the Animal Justice Party because she is committed to social justice and the AJP’s core values of kindness, equality, rationality and non-violence.
Alison has been vegan since 1996 and is raising vegan children.
She believes that legislative change can improve the lives of countless animals. She supports the establishment of a federal Animal Right’s Commission, the banning of live export, an end to factory farming and the safeguarding of habitat for wildlife.
She believes that we must acknowledge animal agriculture’s contribution to climate change, environmental degradation, land clearing and habitat loss.
Alison believes that we will not eradicate interpersonal violence in our society while we tolerate the perpetuation of violent acts against animals in industries such as agriculture, live export and animal testing.
A zero-tolerance approach to violence in our society must include non-human animals.
Alison wants to be a voice for people, the environment and animals in Federal Parliament.
Unlike the major parties, the Animal Justice Party does not have corporate donors. For financial support, we rely on the goodwill and generosity of people who care about animals. We require funds to cover the cost of printing corflutes, flyers and how-to-vote cards. We also need money to cover candidate fees ($2,000 per candidate) and for advertising. Rest assured, your donation will go directly to Alison's election campaign for Federal Parliament.
If elected, she will fight for animal protection, action on climate change and a kinder world for all of us.
Animal Justice Party election campaign. A vote for Alison Waters is a vote for animals, people and the environment.
* Ban Live Export -
Each year, millions of animals suffer on lengthy sea journeys. We won’t stop until we achieve a ban on all live animal exports, forever.
* Combat the Climate Emergency -
Urgent action must be taken to address global climate destabilisation. We will legislate to protect forests and marine habitats from further destruction, invest in clean energy and support a transition from animal agriculture to plant-based agriculture.
* End Factory Farming -
Factory farming causes immense animal suffering. We will fight for a rapid phase out of battery hen cages and sow stalls.
* Safeguard Australia's National Emblem -
Kangaroos should be protected and not seen as resources or pests. We will urgently change legislation to protect kangaroos from commercial killing.
* Protect Wildlife Habitats -
Land clearing is an animal welfare disaster, displacing and killing huge numbers of wildlife. We will introduce laws to protect wildlife habitats.
* Establish a Federal Animal Rights Commission -
Animals have unique rights which should be protected by law. We will establish a legal system for animals which protects their right to live free from human harm.
