Help Frishawn Beat Breast Cancer

On May 7, 2018, I heard the words that would change my life and that of those I loved forever. That was the day that my surgeon, Dr. Vincent Carifi M. D., would confirm what I already knew. That I, Frishawn Quinn Rasheed, have Breast Cancer.
People have always said that time stops when you get life altering news. For me however, nothing could have been further from the truth. For me, time sped up. Especially after I learned that my lumpectomy, and Sentinel Node biopsy were to take place exactly 10 days later. With oncology visits, radiation, and body scans to follow.
While all of these things are daunting within themselves. Compounding the issue for me is the loss of income that taking time off work in order to undergo treatment will cause. A loss that I, as a single mom of three, with two still at home, and medical expenses can ill afford.
As if this is not enough of a reason for worry. There is also the fact that the type of cancer that I have and whether or not it has spread are things that I will not know until after the tumor removal on May 17, 2018.
As a result, both I and those who depend on me are in a state of limbo.
The illness that I am asked and expected to fight, an all encompassing spector that I must learn before it learns me.
For you can not battle an enemy that you do not first understand.
People often refer to those who have lived through cancer as "survivors" .
I say that everyday lived after diagnosis makes me a "cancer survivor ".
Each donation will help me to continue to "survive" and be the mother, sister, daughter, blogger, wri ter, creator, friend and person that I am destined to be, and allow me to one day pay forward the blessings that you have so generously bestowed upon me.
Thank you so very much.
