Help Garrett Kick Cancer's Butt

Donation protected
My name is McKenna and I'm starting this page to help my brother, Garrett. It all started in July of 2015 when he went to go get his wisdom teeth removed. On the panoramic view of his mouth, they saw what looked like a hole in his jaw. They proceeded with the wisdom teeth extraction, but got an oral surgeon involved. After neumorous appointments, MRIs, and CT Scans they decided they were going to replace his jaw with a prosthetic one. The oral surgeon was going to be performing this surgery, but days before canceled and said they needed to get the neurologist involved.  The neurologist thought that the spot was nothing and surgery wouldn't be necessary. That was in November of 2016.
In December of 2016, Garrett was experiencing hearing loss in his right ear and my mom called the doctor. By February, Garrett was having numbness on the right side of his face. He went in for a scan on the 22nd and surgery was scheduled for the 27th.
During his 10 hour long surgery, he had multiple doctors working on different parts of his head. They got through the surgery with no complications and they said it was very successful. Garrett was in the ICU until Wednesday and then moved to the medical floor. After days of being of being in the hospital, he got news that he could go home Friday.  The oncologist was also meeting with him this day to give him the diagnosis and treatment plan.
Garrett has rhabdomyosarcoma. He will be undergoing 9 months of chemo and radiation; three weeks on, one week off.  After the 9 months are up, he will have scans every three months. Garrett will not be attending the last trimester of high school or playing baseball, but  he is hoping to attend some games and cheer his teammates on. He will be unable to go away to college in the fall.  He will be able to walk with his classmates at graduation and he's hoping to attend some senior activities.
Any funds raised will be going towards co-pays,  medical bills that aren't covered by insurance, and any other therapies Garrett may need to help him through this.
My parents would like to thank everyone for their generosity and the strong support that has been offered. Any funds left over will be donated to someone else in need.
For those of you who don't know Garrett, here's a little bit about him.  Garrett is a senior at Del Norte who loves all sports, especially baseball. He loves bowling, going to the beach, and playing pick up games with his friends down at the park. He loves to eat junk food in front of the TV and listening to old music. Garrett loves his cat, Callie, and spending time with his friends and family.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read about Garrett. We are so overwhelmed with the amount of support we have, including the people who encouraged us to create this page.
With love and gratitude,
McKenna
