Help Get Gurdy Back on the Road

Donation protected
Gurdy has been off the road for the last couple of years, she needs some major repairs in order to hit the road again. For those of you who don't know... Gurdy is a 1971 ford f750 carpenter school bus , with a 391 gasoline engine. Gurdy has been our home for the last eight years, and for much of that time she carried around the Stray Cafe. The bus was given to us in 2011 by two traveling navy vets, and we have lived in her ever since. Their only condition in giving her to us was this: "love her" and we do.

For the first five years of our journey, we traveled in Gurdy doing the Stray Cafe; a traveling free food kitchen. We shared food music and love at many stops along the way, having amazing experiences with total strangers and creating a tight knit community that may last for a week, or a month, or just a single day. It was an experience we will never forget.

The last few years we have shifted our focus in the bus to making her a home for our growing family. All those years of traveling and focusing all our energy on the kitchen has taken its toll on Gurdy. She needs some repairs and upgrades to make her into a road worthy traveling home for our family. We hope to raise $2500 to make this happen. We have a long list of projects we would like to accomplish in the bus, here are just a few of the repairs we hope to do with your donations: A rear wheel seal, fix power steering issue, replace two tires, rebuild the air compressor for the brakes.... This bus is a dream we want to share with the world. We could not live this dream alone. Gurdy has touched a lot of people in her time on the road. We are merely her stewards and we hope to continue her journey. Thank you for you help. We love you
