Help Ghost Ship Survivor Joel

Joel came into my life a few years back. Golden Donna & Cherushii (Chelsea Faith Dolan) were on tour and we booked them at our space here in Portland, S1. They  filled the room with warm and positive energy immediately.  We felt truly lucky to have witnessed such pure talent.

We convinced Joel to move back to Portland to be our first artist-in-resident and it worked! Joel moved in with me and started helping at the space. We started booking together, while Joel still wrote reviews for shows in Madison, Wisconsin. He was helping artists near and far and it was always something I appreciated and admired. We even brought Cherushii back for a show - I will never forget watching everyone smiling and dancing during her set.

As Joel's friends and those in our community know, Dec 2nd was a day we lost many amazing friends and musicians. Words cannot express the sadness and loss we feel for the friends, role models, collaborators, peers, and members of our chosen families who are no longer with us. Survivors of this tragedy are still dealing with medical, financial, and emotional hardships as a result of this.

Joel has been and will continue to be a champion of our underground community - supporting artists across the globe. He is one of the most genuine and kind humans we have had the pleasure of meeting and working with and now he needs our help. The funds raised will go to help with rent, bills, therapy, and anything else Joel needs during this time.
