Update from Donnie's mom: Donnie is a victim of a horrendous crime where he was shot 5 times and his friend/coworker was killed.  My son has battled Multiple Sclerosis for almost half his life. Still he hasn't let that get him down. He's worked on days he barely could drag himself out of bed. He's provided well for his family and now is going to loose everything he has because of this monsters actions. There is so much more of this case that will come out after the trial but to not jeopardize the trial I can not share publicly. Please just know that this man that shot my son and Jake is evil and will hopefully spend the rest of his life in jail. Unfortunately he will have his 3 meals and a roof over his head, no charge to him but our families and your tax dollars will keep him up.  Donnie is home trying to recover the toll that this is taking on him physically and mentally is almost unbearable to watch. Original post I'm sure you all have heard about the recent shooting where the homeowner shot the 2 contractors. This was my best friend's brother who was the survivor. Donnie was shot 5 times. Once in the face, once in the chest, twice in the arm and once in the back. They have found out through talking to an attorney that the man's homeowner's insurance will not pay any for criminal acts. There is so much financial struggle going on right now. Donnie will probably never be able to return back to work and his wife is going to be out of work indefinitely due to the nature of his injuries he needs around the clock care. Not to mention the emotional toll this has taken on him. Loosing his good friend and the fear he is dealing with every minute of every day of someone hurting him again. They also have a daughter who is a senior in high school and there are many expenses that go along with that they are not going to be able to afford. Anything you could give would be a tremendous help to them right now.
