On December 31st, 2018, Jeremie Dunlap was burning garbage in their firepit when the gas can caught on fire, exploded and caught he and his clothing on fire. He was taken by ambulance to Sacred Heart hospital in Spokane to assess his burn injuries. He was quickly flown to Harborview Medical Center’s burn unit in Seattle for treatment.
He has 2nd degree burns on 35% of his body and a 3rd degree burn on his right arm that will most likely need skin graft surgery. His face has what is equal to a really bad sunburn as well. He is in a lot of pain and will need many therapies and treatments in his future. He will be at Harborview for AT LEAST 3 more weeks.
The Dunlap’s are self employed and have had to temporarily close their business due to the accident. There is no paid sick leave or employee assistance funds for them to draw from in their time of need. Tammy is the caregiver for their oldest son, Cameron, who has MD and requires 24/7care; she therefore cannot run the business while Jeremie is recovering.
Family and friends are hoping to raise money to help with Jeremie’s medical bills and help with the family's living expenses while Jeremie recovers from this tragic accident. Thank you in advance for anything you can do.
