Help Jesher Walk Again
Donation protected
On January 14th, 2019, Jesher Tsz Fung Yau suffered a horrific accident while practicing a common gymnastic move he’s done numerous times. When he landed he hit the back of his neck fracturing his C6-C7 vertebrae, injuring his spinal cord, and compressing four of his discs. He was immediately taken to Research Medical Center Hospital and had C6-C7 anterior discectomy surgery and fusion. He is currently paralyzed from the chest down and has limited movement in his upper body extremities.
Jesher is a 29-year-old charismatic young man, full of energy and loves adventures. He is a man of determination, very ambitious yet fun loving, considerate and loves people. He loves to live life to the fullest and wants to see the best in everyone. He is a gymnast by profession and was once an Olympic hopeful and part of the Hong Kong national team.
Unfortunately the medical costs don’t come cheap, especially spinal care and rehabilitation, which is one of the most expensive in the medical field. All money raised will go towards assisting with medical costs, necessary equipment, rehabilitation fees and ongoing treatment. Jesher, a Hong Kong citizen, having no health insurance and not being treated in his home country, it will also help his family with travel and accommodation costs. Jesher has always showed us the type of drive and motivation that someone would need in order to overcome an injury of this severity with the challenges he has been able to defeat in his successful professional career.
This fund is to help support Jesher and his family through this extremely difficult time. Whether you know Jesher, know of him or do not know him at all, any contribution, big or small, will greatly impact Jesher’s long road to recovery. This fund is to make sure Jesher receives the best possible care necessary to save and improve his quality of life. We are holding Jesher and his family in our thoughts and prayers and thank you for your consideration and contribution.
URGENT REQUEST
We are trying to get Jesher admitted to the Rehabilitation Hospital of Overland Park. However, the facility requires an up-front 50% down payment of his estimated recovery before Jesher is allowed to be admitted. The rehabilitation facility per day will cost $1,500 with Jesher having no health insurance. With an estimated 2 months recovery, we will need to raise $45,000. If you can, I'd ask you to please consider a donation to help Jesher get back on his feet! I will provide updates on Jesher's progress, as we know more information.
Thank you for anything that you can give!
