Jessica Johnson Memorial
We all know how much fun Jessica can be, riding motorcycles, training horses, to hanging with family and friends, or car meets and hanging out in the garage taking cars. It's been over a year since she has had the ability to do any of these things that she loves to do, including work. Moving to Las Vegas was a financial move that made sense to us and has paid off so far, but the medical expenses are the same anywhere in the country. Living off a single income is a struggle, even when healthy. Jessica's health has been dwindling downhill for a while now and she's been spending weeks at a time in the hospital. Between chasing multiple different strands of bacteria that cause sepsis or bacteriem in her blood, DVT's or blood clots in her arms and legs at random times, or her constant heart rate problems that shoot up to the 180 bpm while sleeping, it's been a long battle that is far from over. Her latest stint in the hospital has been 7 days and continues without any discharge date forseen. Her symptoms make it impossible for her work, not being able to stand up without passing out, vision and hearing going out at random times, and constant pain in her chest and abdomen. This is starting to require around the clock care that I unfortunately cannot provide while trying to support us. Granted my work is very supportive and understanding of our situation, if I cannot be at work then our family has no income. Everytime we enter the ER we hope and pray that maybe they will figure out what is causing her ailments and why she continues to have these random symptoms plauge her life, preventing it from being anything close to normal. Because of this, she wants to start off by apologizing to her family and friends for always being stuck at home and not getting to participate in life's events and holidays we all know she loves. As her husband I have a great career that offers insurance luckily, however with how much time taken off to care for her makes it a part time job and very few hours available to work when not caring for Jessica. The hospital co-pays are huge, IV medications are costly, and specialist doctors that still have yet to be seen. The doctors even have a nurse coming to the house every day to admister medications that can only be done by someone qualified ($245/visit - 2 visits a day for 2 weeks is $6900). Jessica's path to getting her life back is going to be an expensive one, but it's not something I'm ever going to give up on. I made a promise to Jessica that I will get her life back, and with your help I can succeed. The latest challenge for us financially is life's basics. Food, rent, gas etc. Please, if you have the ability to help Jessica get her life back, make a donation. Literally any donation made we'll be grateful for, 15 bucks gets us gasoline for a few days for example. Thank you everyone for taking the time to read this and understand our position. I cannot express my appreciation I have and the care that our families have expressed so far and want to thank you so far for the support given. Our cry for help continues, everything counts, please help us get Jessica healthy.
