Help Kaia Heal Stage 4 Cancer
Donation protected
Hello and welcome to my page. I know many of you reading this are friends, family, colleagues and community members. Some of you may be, as I have been at times, simply someone interested in someone else's story and willing to take a little time to share it. This is my story now:
I am a strong woman in my mid-forties, I own my own business and work with a team of alternative health-care providers.
I am a bodyworker and a yoga instructor. I'm a musician, a gardener, a bee-guardian and lover of the outdoors. I am a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a partner, a friend, a niece. I am an advocate, an ally and a student of life. I am a fan of good food, long walks in nature and longer meditations. Right now, I am also healing cancer, again.
In June of 2014 I was diagnosed with invasive ductile carcinoma, I had surgery to remove the tumor & successfully healed over the course of 2yrs, utilizing many alternative therapies.
In May of 2018 I found myself facing the challenge of being diagnosed with Metastatic Breast Cancer (stage 4). PET scan, MRI & biopsy results indicate that the original cancer has spread to my bones.
One of the most difficult aspects of the challenges before me is meeting the financial demands of treatment and recovery. I will again be unable to work for an unknown number of months.
Medical insurance will cover only a portion of my care (labs & testing) and provides no coverage for care that falls outside of the purview of Western medicine. This is where I will need the most help and greatly appreciate any and all support you can offer.
A donation in any amount no matter how large or small is very impactful in the message of kindness, compassion & encouragement it sends.
Here's an example of what your donations will help cover:
Immunotherapy treatments, 3-week treatment program (outside the USA) is approximately $40,000 (USD), I will likely need 4-6weeks of these treatments.
A donation of $4,000 would pay for a month's worth of expenses (not including treatments & Dr's appointments).
A donation of $500 pays for the Dr's consult/visits at the clinic where I receive treatments locally (consults are every 3-4wks).
A donation of $475 pays for 2 weeks worth of supplements (adjunct systemic treatments)
A donation of $350 pays for lab/testing not covered by insurance
(every 1-3wks).
A donation of $125 will pay for a week of groceries.
A donation of any amount, no matter how large or small, means a great deal in terms of the message of support, encouragement and inspiration it sends; and, in the end, these are the most precious of resources.
My heartfelt gratitude goes out to all of you for your time, your thoughts and prayers and your support in the myriad ways you show and send it. You are all the best part of this latest chapter in my story.
May the longtime sun shine upon you, ALL LOVE SURROUND YOU and the pure light within you, guide your way on.
Warmest wishes,
Kaia
