Help me learn w/ The New York Times

Hi, everyone! My name is Maria De Los Santos, I'm a sophomore from the South Bronx. I recently got accepted to The School of the New York Times Summer Academy, a phenomenal program that helps students voice their opinions on matters that impact our daily lives. This program provides a productive environment where high school students are able to talk and write about topics they feel strongly about, such as politics, science, media, fashion, arts, sports, technology and more. I was over the moon when I received my acceptance email because writing has been a passion of mine for quite some time now, starting at the age of 8. This program is my chance to gain experience as a writer, individual and student. I'll be able to meet different people and work with them because the beauty of this country is that there's a lot of diversity, and that should be used as an advantage. During my time at the New York Times Summer Academy, I will be doing explorations inside the United Nations, sustainability, and tech innovation. It would be able to help the future of tomorrow, the critical thinkers, become leaders and inspiring citizens that would contribute to our democracy and society. Being a minority and an immigrant in America propels me to accomplish the sweet American Dream and I firmly believe attending this program could help me achieve that goal. Education is highly valuable, it is the way a society and civilization can grow. Which is why I would appreciate it any amount of money that could help me realize this dream of mine and seize this great opportunity. If I'm able to attend the program, I would work my hardest and benefit from this great experience. I would be so grateful for your help or if you're able to spread the word!
Thank you so much,
Maria De Los Santos
