Help Mr. Ibis Get Well
Donation protected
On January 25, my sweet kitty Mr. Ibis got out of the house. February 15, I finally had him home, but with a badly abscessed right front leg. We have been back and forth to the vet ever since. He's had two operations to drain it, and gone through 3 antibiotics, all of which the infection has resisted. The infection has invaded his bone, and he is in danger of having it spread in his body. He also has apparent nerve damage from the same injury; the shoulder muscle has severely atrophied. Even if the infection were brought under control, the vet thinks he might not have use of that leg again, and that it could leave him in chronic pain.
Because of the infection and nerve damage, it seems that we must remove that leg. He is only about two-and-a-half years old, and should have many more happy years, but we have to get him healthy again for that to be possible.
The folks at Boulevard Animal Hospital have been wonderful. I am confident in their competence, and the caring they have is obvious.
Veterinary care is not inexpensive. I have already spent several hundred dollars trying to make Mr. Ibis better. Now we know he needs an operation that is estimated to cost somewhere between $500 and $800.
Mr. Ibis is my sweetheart. He purrs and kisses me, and snuggles. He loves me, and I love him with all my heart.
I need to have him well again, if not quite whole.
Anything you can do to help me help my sweet, loving cat, Mr. Ibis will be immensely appreciated.
Thank you!
