Oscar's Story

Oscar came into our lives very unexpectedly.
A Facebook post was pleading for someone to give 3 year old Oscar a chance as 15 rescue centres had refused to take him in! And this meant he was booked in to be put to sleep on Wednesday 22nd march 2017. This is due to a extremely rare medical condition which consiquentley means he dribbles a little bit of wee which he can not control.
His previous owners got him when he was 8months old and they were never told of his inconinence. Over the 2 and a half years they had Oscar in their family they had spent thousands on vet bills- consultations, tests, cat scans , drugs ect ect and the only option would be an operation. I commend the great amount of love , time and money they had invested in Oscar to try to help him but things got difficault when they discovered they had another baby on the way. They spent the whole 9 months of the pregnancey trying to find a home for Oscar as with a new born around they couldn't had their baby crawling around in dog wee wees!
We just could not care the thought of such a beautiful little dog being put to sleep so we took him on !
Oscar now spends his days coming to work with me ( as some of you may know I am a dog walker and groomer) and I shower him with love and affection! We are struggling to stem the flow of his leak using , puppy pads, nappies and an elasticated waste band. We have a dog nappy/ waist band on order but this is no long term solution. We would love to take him to a specialist vet to get him an operation !
Now here's the tricky part ! The condition Is so rare the vets have never seen it before. Oscar has 2 uretheras so when he goes to the toilet urine come see out through one as where the other acts as a little pocket which collects the urine. So when he gets excited or excersizes it spills out causing the drops to come out !
This would be a great study for vetonary science to see how they can fix his problem.
So we are raising money for his general upkeep, vet bills and eventually his operation.
Every little helps so thankyou all for taking the time to read about our beautiful little boy that we would love to give a second chance, new lease of life, and a life without nappies !!
