Help prevent Rachel's potential homelessness

Donation protected
Rachel Surgalski is a 20-year-old student at Biola University. She recently, for safety reasons, had to legally and financially emancipate herself from her parents. Living without them means that she has no one other than herself to rely on for money, food, or housing. She is now legally considered an orphan by the State of California. She has been getting by on grants, scholarships, and her job as a Resident Advisor in Hart Hall on Biola's campus.

Biola University recently refused to give Rachel the additional financial aid she needs to stay here. Since she has lost her parents, and access to their homes, this means that she will not only lose housing and education at Biola, but will be homeless. Biola knows her situation; she has included it in attached letters in her multiple appeals to Financial Aid.

You read that right: Biola will, knowingly, cast an orphan out of their housing, making her homeless. Since she currently works as an RA in the dorms, she will also lose her only job.

She has until January 14th (the start of next semester) to pay the school $8,300 (for tuition, housing, and her small meal plan) or she will be kicked out, with nowhere to go.

Rachel completed her Associate's Degree in English at Cabrillo Community College in Santa Cruz, California before transferring to Biola a year ago. She has been passionate about going to Biola University since she was a child.

Dig through your couch cushions, if you don't mind, and please give all the quarters you can spare to prevent the woman I love from losing the roof over her head. I cannot communicate how much it would mean to me and to her.
