Teacher Mistakenly Fired For Motivating Children
Please click on the link above ^
As a health and physical education teacher of 8 years and a little league umpire of 15 years it is extremely important to find ways to motivate our youth and get them to enjoy all aspects of learning. Every child has the ability to learn and being an educator I strive to engage all of my students.
The video game FORTNITE has been extremely popular amongst kids lately. As a “games-for-grades” concept I promised students a chance to play a video game with their teacher via the internet, as long as they strive to complete their goals.
In order to earn this incentive students had to first get parental consent and complete and excel at homework, class work, exams, participation and behavior.
The school system caught wind of the one and only session for a total of 20 minutes of the game being played. They disagreed with the successful motivational process and soon had me placed in the rubber room for months; then ultimately fired as of December 2018.
The reason for this gofundme is to reach out and ask for assistance from anyone who believes educators like myself are what we need in the classroom.
As we all know, the appeal process and legal fees combined can accrue a hefty price tag. For those who are able to donate...thank you for showing your support, it is sincerely appreciated.
ALL donations above the total cost will be donated directly to the school system for student supplies!
