A Man Wrongly Imprisoned for 45 Yrs
Donation protected
Richard Phillips spent 45-years in prison for a crime he had nothing to do with. He maintained his innocence from the day he was arrested and now, at the age of 72, the State of Michigan has released him because it acknowledges it made a mistake and that the case against him was based on lies, not facts.

Since his release in December, he has been living off of $80 a month in food stamps and the generosity of strangers. He’s found a friend with an apartment to stay with but he needs money to cover his living expenses.
Our justice system is the best in the world, but it isn’t perfect. The system failed this man. Now it is time for us to collectively give him a hand up to help him get back on his feet.
I did not know Richard before I heard his story, but I have learned that he is a kind, gentle, humble man. He carries no bitterness or anger for the lost time. All he wants now is to make the most of what time he has remaining on earth.
Please join me in helping Richard start living independently withour fear of not knowing where his next meal is coming from.
Kindest regards,
Karl Kipke
