Help Rose Acres Rescue!
This is a contest to see who can donate the most money to a very worthy cause. This will be quite long, as most persuasive writing is. For the convenience of those who are too busy or just don't like to read, I've taken the liberty of bolding the most important bits.
It's that time of year again -- puppy and kitten season. All over the United States, unsterilized cats and dogs are popping out litters, many of which will go to the shelter where around 2.5 million, yes, million, pets are euthanized every year, and the majority of this mass taking of life occurs in the south, where euthanasia is among the highest per capita in the nation.
Rose Acres Rescue is a rescue trying to fight this unneccessary loss of life every passing year by taking these puppies and kittens, along with adults, into their own care, keeping them out of shelters, while making sure that they are disease free, spayed/neutered, and vaccinated.
What makes this particular rescue even more special is that they are exclusively an 11th hour rescue. That means they are the ones who pull shelter pets off the euthanasia list, or sometimes the very table they're set to die on.
Every life whose path takes them to this no-kill shelter would have been lost forever without them.
But right now, this rescue needs our help.
Due to storm damage and a huge buildup of vet bills, for the first time since their inception since 2013, the rescue cannot afford to pull any more animals in desperate situations. Now, many innocent dogs' and cats' lives are being lost because Rose Acres Rescue, the angel that used to step through the doors and save them at the last moment is no longer able. This is the worst of all times to have no one to step up for them, in puppy/kitten season when adorable babies whose lives have only just begun are killed daily and thrown out like trash in animal shelters across Alabama.
I am not a worker for the rescue or its owner. I am but an adopter. I brought home a wonderful kitten almost a year ago from Rose Acres, Magick (then Conrad), and the cat he has grown up into has made me care deeply about this rescue, because I care about him and the many others like him who will die without our intervention.
If you care about the animals dying in rescues all over the south and want to do something about it, here's your chance. Let's pool our resources together and give the lost souls of Alabama a fighting chance. I implore you, even if it's just a few cents, donate to this poor beings, who love, feel, and learn, just like we do. Anything helps, really.
