Help Ryan Nulty and Sepsis Awareness

Donation protected
My son Ryan is a 46 year old postman, he enjoys his job out and about all day, walking, cycling and meeting people.  He has two children and two grandchildren and is a great role-model for them all.  He has a dog called Jeffrey, a huge part of his world, he loves taking him out and about.  Ryan met Shaaron a couple of years ago and they started a new life together, everything seemed to be going well for them both.

Suddenly out of the Blue, Sepsis struck, Ryan did his normal post round on Saturday 14 October 2018, but was feeling very unwell and thought it was flu.  By morning on the following day he was in the ICU unit of East Surrey hospital, by the the afternoon he was on life support and suffering with organ failure.

After a week he was transferred to St Thomas' in London and then on to St Heliers in Sutton for Dialysis, Ryan's spleen never did recover and was shattered leaving him vulnerable to infection.  Unfortunately, Ryan's feet had been affected by gangrene and he was discharged and told he would need to return in the New Year for a double amputation. Ryan's condition deteriorated and he became bedridden.

Finally, his surgery took place on  31st January and he remains in hospital recovering.

Throughout Ryan has remained incredibly brave and positive, but he has a long road ahead.

Our family are looking to raise money to assist with equipment to help him at home and in the future with his mobility.

We also hope to be able to help raise awareness of this dreadful infection that kills approximately 52,000 people in the UK each year.
