Help Rylei get back to CAU

Hello, my name is Rylei Nami and I am currently a rising sophomore from Columbus, Ohio trying to get back to my school, Clark Atlanta University. I have a major in speech and communications with a minor in Spanish. After my first year at CAU I fell in love with not only the school itself but also the staff, family environment and the educational agenda geared specifically towards African Americans and the traditions and history I was never taught at a predominantly white high school. I love attending a HBCU and my goal is to graduate from one. My passion and talent is in using my voice to fight for equality in America which is why I would like to work in media to share my knowledge and hopefully better the representation of black men and women in media because they are often misrepresented which enforces incorrect stereotypes. Also I am currently the president of CAU’s Speech team and an upcoming residential assistant for one or the schools dormitory. I would hate to have leave my team as they have become like a family to me and I truly want to help them succeed. I maintained a 3.2 GPA and successfully made the Deans List second semester. The reason I am making a GoFund me is a result of my mother being denied the parent plus loan and unfortunately I’m having a difficult time finding a co-signer. Although I’m having trouble getting back, I know Clark Atlanta University is where I need to be to pursue my career and receive the education I will not get at a predominantly white college. Thank you for taking the time to read my story, any small donation helps and is greatly appreciated.
