Help Send Sam to the Royal Academy of Music

I have had a passion for music my entire life. My first exposure to opera was when I was 12 years old and my boys’ choir was invited to sing as the children’s chorus in Tosca at the Portland Opera. I remember being in total awe at the vast theatre, stunning sets and costumes, and above all, the singers. I wondered how they could have so much power in their voices and bodies on stage. Passion dripped from them that was completely unlike anything I had ever experienced, and I loved it immediately.
Following my heart, I went to college for voice, and worked hard. In 2018 I won BYU's competition for vocal performance majors and this past winter I applied and was accepted to five music conservatories in the UK for grad school. After deliberation, I decided to go to the Royal Academy of Music in London for a Master's degree program. I was so honored to be accepted and I am so excited to start in September.
Taking this big step means that that dream I've had of becoming an opera singer is coming true! It's pretty unbelievable to me that this is happening.
I started this fundraising campaign because the tuition fees for the Royal Academy of Music are very expensive. For each year, I have to pay £24,000 for tuition and £12,000 for living expenses while in London. I received an entrance scholarship from the Royal Academy, covering a portion, and I've received some help from family, but the rest will be student loans. My goal with this campaign is to reduce the amount I have to take out in student loans. I know many of you have followed my progress from a young child in Salem, through my years at school in Oregon and then Utah, and I wanted to give those of you who may want to contribute a chance to do so. I would appreciate any amount, since every contribution reduces the amount I will owe in student loans.
