Help Save Candlepin Bowling in NS

In light of the recent devastating news that Fairlanes Bowling Center in New Minas, Nova Scotia has been sold and is closing, as well as LMK Lanes in Middleton in the fall of 2015, I have started a fundraiser in hopes that we can somehow find a way to reestablish Candlepin Bowling back to the Annapolis Valley.
For many, bowling is so very near and dear to our hearts. Whether you're a competitive bowler who bowls regularly in leagues and tournaments, or a social bowler who comes for the fun and disco lights, bowling has in some way affected you at one point in time. So many people are hurting from this news. The members of Special Olympics, the Senior community, the Youth, and everyone in between. I for one, have been bowling for 29 years, since I was barely out of diapers. My father bowled, my mother bowled, my sister bowled. And so many families were much the same. Bowling is in my blood.
As of March 18th when Fairlanes closes their doors for the last time, there will officially be no Candlepin Bowling Alleys between Digby and Windsor, Nova Scotia. A span of over 160km's. And it is an absolute shame. Even if you're not an avid competitive bowler, just the fact that you can't call and book your childs Birthday party anymore, or a staff Christmas party, or just bring the family in for a night of fun under the disco lights. So many people are affected by the closure of these bowling alleys.
My goal is to somehow get a kickstart on coming up with the funds to put towards rebuilding something, anything that can give members of our community a place to go to throw some balls like they have for generations and generations. I realize this may be a long shot, but I just can't sit back and not at least try to salvage the game I love so much. Should this effort fall short, all funds raised will get split up evenly between the remaining bowling centers in Nova Scotia, so rest assured, you will be helping keep this wonderful sport alive.
