PLEASE HELP, YOU ARE THE HERO WE NEED

Donation protected
Update: While Chance is recovering we are still suffering. The money raised so far was a blessing as it afforded us Chances life saving surgery. However that was only 1 of 3 vet bills and Chance still needs follow up appointments we cant afford. All of our bills have fallen behind. We are struggling to even provide him with food, let alone ourselves. We can not afford to even begin the legal process of holding the reckless and cruel owners responsible. Please, if you can share and donate to help us provide not only the continuing medical care for chance, but to help us keep ourselves fed and not lose our home. Please find it in your heart to help in any way you can Yesterday, Monday May 13 my long time girlfriend of almost ten years and the love of my life, her dog was attacked by a pit bull on our property. The Pit bull belongs to a next door neighbor and was wearing a harness but left unattended. It ran from its unfenced yard, charged up two flights of steps and bit down onto our dogs neck and would not let go. Selene was attempting to take our dog for a walk. The attack was immediate upon leaving the house. While I was changing I hear a blood curdling scream coming from outside. While still in my undergarments and nothing else I ran outside to see a pitbull latched onto our sweet dogs neck and blood everywhere. There was a woman holding the pit bulls leash at that moment offering NO assistance. Just holding the leash and watching it happen. It took 15-to 20 closed fist strikes to the pit bulls head before it would let go. I was bit. Our dog was pouring blood from his neck. I was rushed to the hospital for injuries to my hand from punching and the bite and mid section from the altercation while Selene rushed to the CHESHIRE V.C.A. They refused to fully treat chance without a $6000 payment which we did not have at that moment. They offered euthanasia to an animal they claimed was stable but in need of immediate medical care. They then put a wrap around his neck for which they charged us $146. Sent some persciptions in which of course we had to also pay for and left us to hope he survives the night. As some may know Selene recently lost both her Grandmother and Mother within a 60 day period. Our dog Chance, is not only our best friend but serves unofficially as a service dog to us as I suffer from PTSD as a former Correctional Officer and Selene whos lost so much. We are desperately searching for a low cost Vet but the options aren't looking good. There will absolutely be a legal battle over this. We simply do not have that kind of money as we are currently on one income and barely scraping by as it is. Our vehicle is also in desperate need of repair and puts us at risk of losing our only source of income. I never ask for handouts. Its just not my thing. However this affects people I hold dear and us losing our home and an innocent animal in Chance losing his life. He is not doing well. All this with an impending legal battle at hand we are in trouble. We need your help. Please spread the word. I have contacted all local news stations in hopes that they too can spread the word and expose these irresponsible dog owners. Every dollar will go towards Chance's recovery. None of it will be used for personal matters. Anything donated to this cause will be immensely appreciated and we would be forever in your debt. Please Help us save chance and bring those responsible to justice.
