Help Serena Get Back On Her Feet!

Hi everyone! On February 24, 2018, I suffered a life threatening injury while cheerleading for Clemson University’s competitive cheer team. I fractured my C2, which is a very essential bone used in motion of the neck in all directions. This injury has been absolutely life changing for both myself and my family. I can’t  walk for extended periods of time, so I’ve had to purchase a wheelchair. Basic things such as eating, brushing my teeth, and doing my hair have become very difficult task that I now need assistance with. I have had to withdraw from Clemson for the rest of the semester, which has been one of the hardest parts of this injury. My life has been turned completely around, but I am so grateful to be alive and walking because most people with this injury are either paralyzed or have passed away.  

Many people have asked me how they can help.  Your donations will help in many ways, including medical bills, withdrawal fees, and continuing care even after I am out of the neck brace. Currently, we are all hopeful that I will not have to have surgery to fuse my neck back together, but if I do, I will be out of school for at least one additional semester. The money will also help cover transportation fees for trips back and forth to South Carolina, and also the mounting medical expenses that my parents are incurring.
