Help Shem Creek Fleet Pay The Bills
Donation protected
Shrimp trawlers and fishing boats on Shem Creek...they're synonymous with the Town of Mount Pleasant and the Lowcountry. Those beautiful sunset scenes we've come to know just wouldn't be the same without them. However, for reasons that remain a mystery, the shrimp just didn't show up this year for the hard-working crews of the Creek, and the fleet has had to endure one of the worst shrimping seasons in years.
We've started this fundraising campaign to help ensure these captains and crews can continue to keep the lights on through the winter - so that they'll be ready to go when the shrimp hopefully return in the spring! All proceeds will be presented directly to Shem Creek Fisheries, a 501(c)3 formed to support the fleet, at their December 16th fundraiser at the VFW for the purpose of helping the fleet meet their expenses this winter.
Let's show the fleet of about a dozen boats just how much the community is behind them - and we especially challenge the business community of Mt. Pleasant to step up and help out one of Mt. Pleasant's original industries!
To that end, all businesses who make a donation to this campaign will get their own post recognizing their donation with a full description of the company on the Save Shem Creek Facebook page that has almost 8,000 followers and reaches tens of thousands of people each week.
Please make a donation if you can and spread the word with your friends and family! If we all give just a little bit we can reach our goal easily!
