On Wednesday oct. 24 our mother, 59 and terminally ill, was the victim of violent home invasion. Beyond a number of physical injuries she is very traumatized and as a result does not want to return to the location of the home invasion. She is also experiencing a number of other trauma related issues. We have been putting her up in a hotel closer to the hospital since the attack to keep her away from the location of the attack. We have also had to replace all the medications the attackers stole. This is quickly working through any money we have and putting a strain on all of us. Living in a hotel is not ideal for her condition.
Before the attack she was living in Sicamous. With her ever worsening health conditions her location wasn't ideal and was becoming an issue due to the fact that a lot of her treatments are located in Salmon Arm and Kelowna. With her condition she isn't able to drive, which made getting to treatment and appointments very hard. And now this has happened. As a result we are going to be relocating her.
We are going to relocate her to Cranbrook to get her away from the location of this terrible attack. By relocating her she can start the healing process and put this all behind her and focus on her health and treatment. Relocating her to Cranbrook will also put her closer to the treatments she requires and closer to family support. She requires a lot more help and super vision and being in Cranbrook would give us the opportunity to give her the help she needs and from family members rather then some stranger.
So help with all this is what has brought us here. Any help goes a long way at this point. To be honest here, i really don't know what to write on this, this has left us all in shock and speechless. Please help us help our mom get through this, and help us help her start over in a safer and happier place closer to the ones who love her. thanks
