CJ is in a fight for his life!
CJ suffers from a rare Autoimmune Encephalitis Disease called DPPx that attacks his central nervous system. DPPx effects CJ's vision, memory, cognition, motor functions, and causes him to wake dozens of times throughout the night while trying to sleep. CJ is 1 of only 39 known diagnosed cases in the world. He has battled this disease for over 6 years. And over those years he has been in and out of multiple hospitals where he has battled for his life similarly as he is doing now.
CJ's Condition Now:
Recently CJ's condition has worsened to the point that he needs emergency treatments and procedures along with ICU care. CJ is currently in ICU care on a ventilator because of his unusually low oxygen levels, and his confusion. CJ's local doctors have decided that it is extremely necessary for CJ to return to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota (where he was original diagnosed with DPPx), so he can be seen by a team of physicians and specialist that could help save CJ's life.
Why we started this campaign:
The main reason is to spread CJ's story to people and to reach out for help during this time of need. We are uncertain on how long it will take before CJ is recovered from this most recent event. During this time CJ's mother has to take FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act) through March to be with CJ. After CJ is stable he is needing to travel to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN for an unknown amount of time where him and his mother will be staying in hotels and visiting the Mayo Clinic to try and figure a plan of action to help CJ.
Any Donations, Support, or Prayers are appreciated more than you can imagine!!!
Thank you,
CJ and Family
