Help support refugee family in 613

We are a group of fifteen local Ottawa citizens who have come together as a sponsorship group, to help a refugee family settle in our community.   We have a diverse set of backgrounds and skills; what we have in common is our shared commitment to help our family successfully settle in Canada.   The team members with this campaign are all on the sponsorship group. 

We are sponsoring a mother and her three children from Syria, expected to move to Ottawa the last week of November. They are currently in a refugee camp in Jordan while they wait.   They are coming to Canada through the Blended Visa Office-Referred Program.   We have already connected with the family online and are getting to know each other,  as we prepare for their arrival.

We want to make sure that they start this new chapter in Canada in a warm and friendly environment, with everything that they need. All funds raised will be held in a bank account established by the sponsorship group and transferred to the family.  The funds will help the family with their livings costs and daily needs,  including winter wear, school supplies and food, as they get established in Ottawa.  The specifics of what the family wants will be clarified upon their arrival, based on their individual needs.
