With heavy heart's we would like to share with you Taetum's long road to recovery. With hopes that you can support this sweet little girl and her family in this difficult time.
On June 9,2017 Eric Mattice & Christy King parents of Taetum Willow Mattice were given the heart wrenching news. Their 3 year old sweet, outgoing, beautiful baby girl was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia ( AML).
It all started the Tuesday before June 6, when Taetum's eye was puffy and she seemed to be a little pale. So Christy her mom took her to their family doctor. Where she was told it seemed to be irritated and he prescribed her eye drops and sent them home. Then on Thursday June 8 she became worse, even more pale and now lethargic so her mom took her back to their doctor. This time he orders a urine test, blood work and a X-ray. She took her to a clinic to have her blood drawn and they couldn't complete it. From there Eric and Christy took her to McMaster children's hospital in Hamilton where they received the heart breaking news. The following Sunday the hospital did a series of test including a spinal tap, bone marrow, MRI and a central line. The test result came back with AML and that they had found some in the cells by her eye and her sinus cavity. As of right now Taetum is undergoing several chemotherapy treatments.
So as you can see their whole world got turned up side down in just a few short days. On top is all this they now have to explain this to Taetum's two 10 yr old twin brothers, and how severally ill their little sister had become. Since then their parents have both been off work to provide the love and support their children need. Her parents and brothers love her dearly and just want their baby and little sister home as soon as possible. We are hoping that you all can help and support this lovely family in anyway you can. While they have to travel down this very difficult emotional road. Thank you all in advance for your time and support!
