Help the Honeys for the Holidays!

Many people use flatbed trailers to recreate, but it’s not every day you find a family hooking one up to a truck just to leave the house with their children! That’s exactly what the Honey family does anytime they take their sons out of the house, whether it be a family event, a doctor’s appointment, a vacation, or supporting a family member at a sporting event.

Mark and Sharon Honey are the parents of four children who were born with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a rare genetic disease that fatally deteriorates muscles in primarily male victims. The Honeys already lost one son to this disease in February of 2015 and the family is hopeful to find a means of transportation that will allow them to easily transport all of their their amazing children including three daughters Jessica, Rachel, and Rebekah and their four surviving sons Nathanael, Joshua, Andrew, and Anthony, three of whom are in wheelchairs.

Each day the Honeys lift each child, ranging from 98 lbs to 150 lbs a combined number of 33 times per day, and are limited in mobility outside of the home since they have no vehicle in which to transport the children without towing the wheelchairs behind on a trailer.

In cooperation with the Shamrock Auto Group who has agreed to provide the needed vehicle if we can raise the balance of $25,000.

We invite you at this season of giving and gratitude to join us in providing a helping hand to lift those who lovingly lift their sweet sons every day, cherishing each moment they have to spend with them as we give this family a proper vehicle with a wheelchair lift and space for their children, so that no one needs to be left behind.

We hope that your donation will be a meaningful symbol of the value you place on time with your own loved ones as we offer the Honeys the opportunity to enjoy the limited time they have left together as a family.

All funds will go directly to the Honey family vehicle. Any donations in excess of the vehicle amount will be applied toward a lift or lift system to help the Honey family in their daily task of caring for their disabled children. Thank you for even the smallest donation that helps us move closer to this heartfelt goal!
