Help Cheryl Hire Caregivers

Hello my name is Cheryl Hutchinson. I live independently in my own subsidized apartment, With the help of 24 hour care attendants. I am 47 years old, Have cerebral palsy (Spastic quadriplegic) and use a power wheelchair for mobility and independence. I have a functional use of my right arm and hand only. Due to my disability and various medical issues, I receive government disability funding and am unable to work.

 I am raising funds to pay a recruitment office -individualized Funding Resource Centre (IFRC) (http://www.ifrcsociety.org/ ).They will recruit appropriate caregivers. I am on a government program called Choices for Support in Independent Living (CSIL) in which the government asseses my needs and gives me a monthly dollar amount to hire caregivers . The IFRC will also at the same time help stratergize with me and the health authority to get more care hours and more funding to pay a decent wage for my caregivers.  

I have hired my own caregivers over the years but currently,with the long hours,my complex care needs, 
 and having many medical and personal issues,and not enough hours/funding it is very hard for me to hire people . The IFRC has a data base of caregivers in my area they would match applicants to my requirements and then asses the resumes and conduct a pre screening interview. I have the final say on who becomes my caregivers. The $2400 that i am asking for is the fee that the IFRC charges for a one year of the above -mentioned services. It is very important for me to have the IFRCs help, as in the past caregivers have not shown up without notice, have been verbally and physically abusive and have threatened my well -being and my home.

I need these funds as soon as possible as i do not have enough caregivers to meet my needs. if someone gets sick , I have no one else. and my current situation is  not good for my  well- being and extremely anxiety provoking,

it is extremely important  for me to have the assistance of the IFRC in helping me to find aproppriate caregivers that are knowledgeable and emphathetic to my medical needs and that are also trustworthy , reliable and caring. While i have found caregivers with these qualities in the past , my confidence in doing so currently is extremely low from my recent experiences. The confidence that i  expect to gain from the experience of the IFRC staff will allow me in the future to do the whole process on my own. Also my elderly parents (my 81 year old mother  struggles with health issues and  is just barely managing to live on her own; my 86 year old father  has dementia, is wheelchair bound and  lives in a care facility )worry about my struggles with caregivers .Knowing that I have the experienced support of the  IFRC will lessen their worries and give them the confidence that i will be able to live a safe,happy life.

I and my elderly parents are extremely thankful for any funds contributed to help me hire the IFRC  to help me with the hiring process for much needed caregivers. Good caregivers are crucial to me being able to live a quality life,that is physically and emotionally healthy and safe. I will then be able to grow personally -focusing on my health, personal goals and family.
