Help Us Help Distressed Families

My name is Yvonne, my background is in retail and I have over 20 years of private home geriatric care-giving. During those years, I had the privilege of creating a calm environment for many seniors in the last days of life. Thinking back about some of those senior's homes, to some degree, their exposure to lead, carbon monoxide from unsafe/inefficient heating and cooling systems and inadequate ventilation might have contributed to their ailments.

My husband’s (Donald) background is in the Weatherization Industry, whose goal was to make homes more energy-efficient and safe. He has a Master HVAC license, and a Building Performance Institute(BPI)-Building Analyst/Energy Auditor/Quality Control Inspector certification. He has mentioned to me several times that he was saddened because of seeing many who suffered because they didn't have sufficient funds or didn't have the expertise to correct problems with their heating and cooling systems. His previous employment, with a non-profit organization, granted him the opportunity to oversee the repair and/or replacement of unsafe and defective heating and cooling equipment. Now retired, both myself and my husband desire to continue to help those in need of safe and efficient heating and cooling systems.

Therefore, we formed our company, HVAC&ENERGY-SAVING SERVICES, LLC(Bonded). Our mission in the Hampton Roads area of Eastern Virginia is to provide distressed families with safe and efficient Heating/Cooling(HVAC) and Energy-Saving systems that otherwise wouldn’t be affordable for low to moderate-income households.

We are requesting $30,000 in gift donations and/or grants from community-minded individuals and organizations. We are not a nonprofit organization, so donations will not be tax-deductible. The first $10,000 will cover expenses such as purchasing HVAC supplies and equipment, home energy auditing equipment, office equipment and establish an operating budget. Afterwards, the remaining $20,000 will help us help those that can benefit from our services. Our goal is to obtain additional funding from Federal, State and Utility programs and Grants which would enable us to repair and/or replace any inefficient/defective heating and cooling systems for those in our community that can’t afford such repairs.

We are registered with the Virginia State Corporation Commission(SCC), we have our Federal Employer Identification Number(EIN) and have obtained the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation(DPOR) VA Class A Contractor License(HVA). In addition, we have our City of Portsmouth, VA business license.

My team consists of myself, Yvonne Clanton, as President and Donald Clanton, as Secretary. In addition, we will use supporting sub-contractors. Both myself and husband have 30+ years of doing voluntary and paid HVAC work throughout the State of Virginia. Please Help Us Help Our Community!
