A new life for the Auburn "dump cats"
Tax deductible
At Community Cat Advocates, we don't feel that any cat is too sick or too feral to be saved, and loved. So when we received a call from some concerned citizens that had spotted some very sick kittens at a local waste management facility, we knew we needed to take action. One of our volunteers from Animal Rescue Connection went to speak with the staff at the facility, and found that there has been an issue with stray and feral cats living under the dumpsters and in the storage containers for at least the last decade, and while at some point some were fixed, more cats constantly showed up, and now they were having kittens. The conditions are not good for cats - the dumpsters they huddled under were cold, some had frostbitten ears, and most of them were matted with dirt and chemicals from rummaging through the trash. Many were also sick due to their exposure to the elements and inadequate shelter, and the continuous flow of heavy machinery and vehicles was a threat to their lives. The wonderful staff at the facility was thrilled to hear that we were willing to help, because they didn't like seeing the cats suffer, but could not find anyone to help rehome them in the past. We vowed that we would find each and every cat a loving forever home....but we desperately need your help. We have already started lining up homes, but they can't leave our care until they are healthy, fixed, and vaccinated. Unfortunately there are very limited resources for feral cats who many view as unadoptable, and we are up against a waive of medical bills with no backing except our own paychecks (we work 'normal' jobs to pay the majority of our rescue expenses) and the support of our community. We know that with your help, no expense will be too high, and these babies can finally retire comfortably in warm, safe homes. Please help if you can - no donation is too small. These aren't just 'the dump cats' anymore, they're OUR dump cats and we refuse to let them down <3
