Help Volodymyr to beat leukemia!
Walter (Volodymyr) Fabuliak, is my nephew. He is 16y.o and suffering from a very vicious disease - acute lymphoblastic leukemia (blood cancer). He needs a blood marrow transplant procedure, which is very expensive (around $158,000).
When he was first diagnosed, family came together to help him fight the disease financially. He went through 4 levels of chemo and we were very happy when he seemed to be doing well last summer and getting ready to go back to school. However, in a month the leukemia came back. He started the first protocol of treatment again and this time his exhausted body shows many complications. The only option for him to survive is a blood marrow transplant and there are no financial resources left to help.
Volodya is the most compassionate and generous boy I know, smart and hungry to live a teenage life. He has the ability to light up the room and make everyone around him laugh. He also has an incredible amount of positivity and strength that comes from within. Throughout this journey, he has never complained or been angry with his diagnosis. Illness made him older than he is, and through 18 months of treatment he learned what it means to lose friends who were in cancer treatment with him. I don't know how many times I've heard him say, - "Other people have it worse." He has continued to fight leukemia with humbleness, love in his heart and with faith in God. His treatment will be away from home and requires an accompanying parent and 6 to 8-months stay in a hospital assuming no complications. The family desperately needs financial assistance to keep their son alive. Your help can spare his life. Any donation is so much appreciated!
