Help To Remember ZEUS
Zeus is a gorgeous 5 year old Great Dane and more importantly he is an amazing and massive part of our family and loved by everyone. He came into our home after being gifted to us by a Great Dane breeder.
So far his treatment has cost in excess of £10000.00 which has been covered by his pet insurance policy.
He began having problems walking last year and was referred to the Glasgow University Veterinary Hospital who diagnosed him as having a slipped disk in his back.
After many scans and consultations they operated on him just before Christmas 2016 and it was more likely that he would not recover than he would get back on his feet again. But he survived, but sadly the operation was not a success.
He featured in an article in the Daily Mail.

Since the new year Zeus began to go off his legs more and more and had to be lifted with a sling and could go no more than a few steps without falling. Back to the Veterinary Hospital he went and had more scans and they said they could not do much more for him.
We then thought of the Channel 4 Super Vet - Prof. Noel Fitzpatrick and asked if he could be referred down to his practice as he is one of if not THE best Animal and Orthopaedic and Neurosurgery Specialists in the world.
Roll on to a very quick referral and Zeus made the journey down to Fitzpatrickreferrals Eashing In the South of England last Wednesday and had a consultation, more scans including a 3D CT scan and an overnight stay. On Friday morning 28th April - Anna - A member of Prof. Fitzpatricks team gave Zeus the good news that they could operate on him to correct his SPONDYLOMYELOPATHY aka WOBBLER SYNDROME, but at a cost likely to be in the region of £18000.00.
Today 29th April and obviously due to the urgency of the need for treatment, we recieved a call to say Prof. Fitzpatrick wishes to have a personal consultation with Zeus urgently and has made an appointment for Tuesday 2nd May at 10am to discuss the imminent surgery and to explain in further detail how he will fit Zeus with metal screws and plates etc to straighten his spine to correct the wobblers and to relieve Zeus from all the pain he is currently suffering.
Zeus is a wonderful and important part of our family and we would do what it takes to benefit his health but this is such a huge cost to find immediately and so we are reaching out to everyone who has a heart to help Zeus have the surgery.
He is such a loving boy and deserves the best.
Any amount small or large will be appreciated from the bottom of our hearts and will go to help with the following......
We are trying to raise money to cover:
Transport from Airdrie down to Eashing and home again.
Consultations associated with pre-surgery tests etc
Cost of the actual surgery by Prof. Fit's Patrick and his specialist team.
Costs of any Medication he will require
Costs of his approx 2 week stay in Fitzpatrickreferals
Physiotherapy and care after the surgery
Transport down to Eashing for the surgery and associated costs for accomodation while Zeus is in for his treatment.
So far his treatment has cost in excess of £10000.00 which has been covered by his pet insurance policy.
Please help us get Zeus back to being pain free and living the life he deserves.
*** updated amount to raise is £15k as of 2nd May after a further consultation with Prof. Fitzpatrick today, who lowered the estimated costs which we are obviously overjoyed about*****
