Help 4 Dom

This is our Dom. He has a very long complex medical history so Ill keep it short and sweet. Dom was born in April 2016 with a very rare form of Hirschsprungs Disease. He has had many many surgeries and as a result is left with 93cm of partially functioning small bowel. He has no large bowel. Since he has been left with a very small section of his small bowel he requires tube feeds, has a central line placed in his chest for TPN and saline overnight and also has a stoma. Dom battles chronic dehydration and barely takes any food or drink by mouth. In 2018 we have just started dealing with partial obstructions in his small bowel along with the dehydration. Its so difficult for Dom to gain weight as his bowel thats left doesnt absorb anywhere near the amount required and he can lose his gains in a matter of hours.   In a nutshell this is what we are fundraising for - The ongoing costs of Doms care and medication. These things will not ever end for Dom unfortunately. He cycles through antibiotics and so many other medications He drinks gastrolyte to keep him as hydrated as we possibly can. We pay out of pocket for these and also have a big list of medications we can only get through Sydney Childrens Hospital that aren't covered at all as his condition is extremely rare. Doms round the clock care is extremely tough on him and hes constantly on the change table to be hooked up for something new. Dom is on TPN 16 hours a day and from 4.00pm until 8.00am He has two feeding pumps running and he has to sit in his high chair until hes in bed for the night. Try keeping a nearly 2yr old in a high chair until 7pm! But we simply cant have him running around as his central line is very precious. Its his lifeline.
