Help Clara Faith Walk the Walk

Clara Faith is 3 years old and was diagnosed with congenital hypothyroidism when she was 4 months old.  She is one of the most joyful people you will ever meet.  However, due to that condition, she has been delayed in her development and has numerous medical conditions.

Her History

She is not able to walk at this time.  Her speech is delayed.  She has a G-Tube because she is unable to safely drink un-thickened liquids.  Her muscle tone is low, which contributes to her inability to walk and drinking issues.  She also has 2 small holes in her heart.  She recently had surgery to repair a cleft in her throat to help her be able to drink liquids normally.  The success of that surgery is unknown.  At this time, we do not have a full diagnosis as to why her thyroid is not working properly.  Her overall diagnosis is classified as inconclusive.

Clara Faith currently sees and has seen over 30 medical professionals.  These include Gastro, Endocrinology, ENT, Neuro, Genetics, Aero-Digestive, Respiratory, and numerous therapists.  In her short life, she has been to see her specialists at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA) over 100 times.  She has multiple therapies each week.

Her Needs

Clara Faith's current needs are, first and always, your prayers.  Second, she needs a special wheelchair until she is strong enough to walk on her own.  She also needs further genetic testing to determine the best way to treat her.  Unfortunately, this genetic testing is not covered by insurance.  She also continues to need OT, PT, Speech and Feeding therapies.  Some of these are also not covered by insurance or have an annual cap and the remainder is out of pocket.  She also continues to need care provided by CHOA.
