Help brutally attacked Nanny

On the morning of March 24th, 2017, my 71 year old grandmother was brutally attacked, beaten, and robbed in her own driveway. She had just returned home, stepped one foot out of her truck....and was then approached by a man with a tire iron who demanded money and said he was going to kill her. When she told him she didn't have any money, he began beating and stabbing her with the tire iron all over her body, pressed against her throat to attempt to choke her, rammed her head into the steering wheel....all for $400.00. She needed that money to pay a bill that was due the week before but she finally gave up the fight due to her poor health and handed over the cash. He is now wanted for multiple charges including attempted murder. We are desperately trying to get her moved out of the horrible area of Memphis she currently lives in but her reasoning for not being able to move back home near family is financial. She is worried about her husband not finding a job here, she is worried about bills not getting paid, she is worried about what would happen to her house that is now in bankruptcy. She has lived in her current home for 22 years but it is high time to go! Her life...her safety...is not worth it and when money is what is preventing her from being in a much safer place and closer to her family, I feel the need to reach out and ask for help getting her here.

I meantioned her giving up the fight due to her health....she had just got out of the hospital a couple weeks ago after a bad scare with her breathing and heart. She has been on oxygen since. She has COPD, asthma, a herniated disc in her back....and way more. She has the hospital bill for that recent visit to worry about plus the cost of her ongoing meds. To make matters financially worse, she had to be rushed to the ER the night of March 25th due to pain and muscle spasms in her chest from where the attacker beat her in her chest....so the bill for this will be coming soon as well.

My grandmother has survived a lot in her life. She was in a fire as a child and was badly burned, she has been raped, she has been in multiple bad car accidents, and she has even beat cancer. None of that stopped her and she didn't let the low life thug who attacked her stop her either. She fought for her life....HARD. After all she has been through in her 71 years, I just want her back home close to me and safe, with fewer financial worries.

I am trying to raise money to help with her medical expenses, hospital bills, medications, the bills she has due that she is stressed about (and fought someone over that almost cost her her life!), as well as the money to move into a house near me (rent, deposit, money to have electric turned on, etc.)

It would mean so much to our family for people to care enough about this heartbreaking story and reach out to help her. She needs it badly. She was lucky to walk away from this latest incident. It's not worth her life to stay in a home in a bad, high crime area because lack of MONEY is keeping her there.

Any amount helps, and I would be so grateful, as will she. I have donated on these pages for others and I truly never thought it would be me on the other end reaching out for help for my loved one.
