Rallying for Duane Bordine
Donation protected
Perhaps you just know him as the "Dahlia Man."
Duane Bordine has been a fixture at local farmers markets for over a decade. His beautiful dahlias, snapdragons and other colorful flowers brighten the markets and bring a smile to the many children who receive a free flower from Duane. In speaking to Duane recently he said he shares over 100 flowers a week with the children frequenting the market with their families.
Duane has overcome many obstacles the past several years, but on Friday, July 27th, Duane and his wife Sharon were dealt another blow. Duane and Sharon lost their home in a devastating fire. The fire not only destroyed their home, but a new greenhouse and several rows of Duane’s prized dahlias.
The good news is that Duane and Sharon are safe and their home was fully insured. Unfortunately, the new greenhouse and equipment inside was not insured.
We are a few of Duane Bordine’s friends from the farmers market. In brainstorming ways we could help, we decided to focus on the loss of his greenhouse and GoFundMe will get the funds directly to Duane and Sharon. We hope you will help us raise $7500 to re-skin the greenhouse and replace the tools and equipment lost in the fire.
