"Helping Oscar and Catie Rebuild"

 Hello.  My name is Patty Miller and I am Caties Mother.  While we live in South Lake Tahoe, CA... Catie and Oscar live in Santa Rosa, CA.  I would like to let everyone know that I am trying to gather funds to help Catie (Fonken) Velarde and Oscar Velarde (our daughter and son-in-law) recover after the devastating Santa Rosa Fire that just swept through their neighborhood in the early morning hours of Monday, October 9th and took everything they owned from them.  The had just gotten married and had been home from their honeymoon for only 24 hours when their dog, Molly, woke them up to a house quickly filling with smoke.

They dicovered several houses in their neighborhood were on fire and were forced to quickly evacuate in the middle of the night with their 3 dogs.  Their home burned to the ground, along with the entire neighborhood. They literally lost EVERYTHING. 

Above is an actual picture of their neighborhood....or what's left of it.  They are still numb with the shock and horror of having everything and every memory destroyed so quickly.  They are confused with not knowing where or how to start to put their lives back together again.  But you can help. This an opportunity to help them get started again, to regain some of what they have lost.  They literally have NOTHING.  The funds will be directly deposited into Catie and Oscars acct. so they can get started purchasing the fundamental items to furnish a new place and replace the personal items of clothes etc...that are all gone now.  The money will also allow them to make a deposit on a new rental home to begin re-building their lives together.
     We are asking  if any are able or so inclined to make a contribution of any size or amount to help this young couple, who are so deserving, to start over again.  Those who contribute will be included in the list of "Helping Hearts" that are "Helping Catie and Oscar Rebuild Their Lives" which will be framed and given to them to keep as a reminder that they are loved and can make it through anything with the love and support of God, family and friends. They will look at that and remember that no matter how bad things ever get throughout their lives, that people love and care about them...and they can rise again.  If you can not contribute...then we ask that you keep them, and all of those who have lost so much to these tragic fires, in your prayers and meditations.  Thank you so much and God bless you and yours.....Jeff and Patty Miller.
