Flood recovery for Karen Griffin
Donation protected
Cancer survivor, nurse, social worker, super-volunteer Karen Griffin and her son Griffin, a sensitive and gifted young man that struggles with autism, need our help.
As some of you may know their house was badly hit by the recent flooding. Waist high waters displaced Karen and her son from their home and their car was totaled. What furniture they tried to salvage was stolen shortly after they moved it into the front yard to dry. The rest was destroyed in the flood.
Karen and Griffin's story was covered on KTRK. Here's a link to the video.
Karen would tell you that they're doing fine, that they've been blessed to receive much help already. She won't tell you that they don't have a place to live right now and don't know where they'll be staying from one night to the next. She won't tell they no longer have a car or other transportation. She won't tell you they have lost virtually every material thing they owned. The most important, sentimental items can't be replaced but we can help get them back on their feet so they can begin to rebuild their lives.
Karen has made a life of helping others. If she hasn't helped you directly she's probably helped your friend or your favorite cause because helping is what Karen Griffin does.
I'm hoping we can raise $10,000 to get them transportation and the necessary items to get them through this tough situation. It's not enough to replace all that they lost but it would be a great start.
Please join me in helping someone that has made a life of helping others in her time of need. And please share this page to help spread the word.
Many thanks,
Jason Nodler
