Help Lexi Get Better
Donation protected
Hi, everyone!
My name is Samantha and I have set up this fundraiser to help my friends Amy & Jeff raise money to care for their suddenly sick therapy dog, Lexi, who helps bring smiles to children who are in hospitals.
Up until a week ago, all was right in their world. Then, upon going to brush Lexi's teeth, Amy noticed a lump on Lexi's gum. 2 days later, Lexi went in for surgery to remove 3 possibly malignant skin tumors and 1 malignant tumor from gums. The cost of that alone was $816 (Includes x-rays and histopathy).
Several days later, Lexi's eye and the biopsy incision between her eyes became infected (Antibiotics and eye ointment - $55.50).
Several days later, they returned to the vet because incision between eyes was now a gaping hole thanks to Lexi's pawing at it before her poor mom could get the cone on her head (Spray bandage - $28.50).
Earlier this week, they went back to the vet for lung x-rays, interpretation and cd of x-rays to take to Knoxville ($180).
So far, those are actual costs Amy & Jeff have paid.
The following is estimates and possibilities:
Thursday (5/19/16) heading to Veterinary Medical Center Oncology Service, Knoxville with estimate of $800 to $1300 for staging and $600 to $800 if CT Scan is necessary.
If melanoma vaccine treatment is approved, 4 doses given as one every other week will come to $2200.
Will discuss if it is advisable to surgically remove affected jaw.
As I mentioned, Lexi is a therapy dog who visits with sick children. Her work here is not done. She has more smiles to make and hearts to fill.
Anything you can donate will be greatly appreciated.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.
Thank you!!!
