Alex is 29 years old and has suffered for 20 years ! with a disease that the doctors are still unsure of or unable to identify!! He contracted this illness when he was 9 years old while on vacation in Jamaica with his father and younger brother.
It is impossible to write Alex's story. He and his family have been through so much in these past 20 years that there is too much to write about and it's too sad to write about.
Alex had his foot amputated in 2010. This did not cure his problem and shortly afterwards, it flared up again on his leg. Now doctors are wanting to amputate his leg!!
Alex has had enough, he suffers with depression and is now willing to let the doctors continue to amputate pieces of his body! His family are horrified and are in desperate need of help NOW.
Alex's situation is desperate!
Alex and his family need support desperately. Financial support to travel to the U.S.A to the Mayo Clinic, (http://www.mayoclinic.org/about-mayo-clinic) to find a cure for their son, Alex, who has suffered enough. To continue to pay monthly large sums of money for his medical supplies, doctors bills and hospital visits. These costs over the past 20 years have had not only a significant financial impact on Alex and his family but also a heavy psychological impact.
Alex has an appointment at the Mayo Clinic in Florida on April 30th, 2014. Time is of the essence. We NEED to reach our financial goal by that date.
