Help Pinball Legend Python Anghelo
Donation protected
Some of you may be aware that Game Designer and Artist Python Anghelo, involved with many of the great pinball machines and video games such as Pinbot, Bride of Pinbot, Comet, Cyclone, Big Guns, Bad Cats, Fish Tales, Pinball Circus, Joust and more, is in a battle for his life. Everyone that knows Python knows he truly loves pinball and all the fans of pinball. A favorite saying of his is "I love gravity because without gravity there would be no pinball".
Every time it looks like he might be down for the count he battles back with even more determination.
He has his great days and his not so great days, but Python is currently surrounded by his artwork and pinball machines at his Chicago, IL apartment. While his mobility has been reduced, many days he gathers enough strength to sit at his drafting table to draw and create new game concepts and artwork.
Unfortunately this battle has been long and costly. Due to his chemo and radiation treatments over the last couple years he has been very limited in his ability to do his creative work.. As you can imagine, this has put a severe strain on Python's finances.
He now needs the help of our Pinball Community and beyond.
You can help in several ways.
First, Python's good days appear to correlate to hearing/visiting with his pinball friends and fans. Sending him a postcard or a letter would go a long way to help brighten his day and give him strength. You can send any postcards/letters/well wishes directly to him at the following address:
Python Anghelo
5030 N. Marine Dr
Apt. 2512
Chicago, IL 60640
Secondly, if you have the means to donate to help cover his ongoing expenses, please donate what you can to this GoFundMe campaign.
Every penny of what is collected from this GoFundMe page will go directly to Python Anghelo. Myself and a few of Python's close friends will also personally cover any processing fees charged by GoFundMe and the payment processor. So if you donate $100, Python will get the full $100.
There are other fund raising projects in the works as well, starting at the Ohio Pinball Show. As many know he was scheduled to be at the show but he is now unable to travel. He insists on being there so his health willing he will be setting up a live video feed from his apartment to the show to do a speech which will be broadcast on a large video screen at the show.
He also wants to have a video feed to the booth which will be set up for the signed art and pinball items he has provided. All the proceeds from these sales will go directly to Python. The video feeds will based on his energy levels. We don't want him to over do it.
WHO AM I
Some of you may know me, Paul Kiefert, as one of the hosts of the Pins and Vids DVD Series (www.pinsandvids.com). In fact, the next Pins and Vids DVD will have a long video interview with Python.
After working with Python on several pinball related projects, I've been fortunate to become very close to him over the past several years. I now consider him to be one of my dearest friends.
Myself and other close friends travel to Chicago multiple times a month to visit and help Python. Anything the Pinball Community can do (Postcards, donations, etc) to help this Pinball Legend while he continues this battle would be greatly appreciated by Python (and us).
