Help the Rodgers Family

Hello family and friends,

I most humbly ask that you read all the way through before deciding to delete this.

I have no more room for pride, and am humiliated to the fullest extent to be even be writing this and have even embarrassingly considered belittling myself and holding a cardboard sign on the corner of the street.

As many of you may know, I was laid off from my job this past October due to a "seasonal lay-off", and have little to no hope of the job re-opening this spring.  I have been searching weekly to find another job and have been unsuccessful in finding ANY job that would support my family beyond paying only for my fuel to get to work.   And as of 12/31, I have run out of unemployment  benefits.

We have had several items up for sale and have had no luck in selling them.  These sales would have gone a great way in helping us take care of some of our expenses while finding a job and working towards that paycheck.

We are fortunate to have built our house debt free, but the land it sits on is is paid for by my VA dissability pay.  But if we have to divert our land payment to other bills, then we could loose that too...

I have, however, found an opportunity and have been accepted to attend CDL training for free in Springfield, Missouri on January 19th.  Then drive a truck for Prime Transportation.  A situation that while not ideal, will cover our living needs.  A positive improvement to our current situation... but it will take several weeks to finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.

And thus, the point of this request for help.

The trucking/CDL school will need me to bring $400 to pay for the actual CDL testing, permits, DOT physical, and other small expenses (food on bus trip, laundry, etc.).  Also $80 to reactivate my phone so I can contact my family while I am on the road training.

Here on the home front, My family will still have needs until my paychecks start coming in.  They need to have propane in the tank (we are very close to empty right now), gas for the car, a car insurance payment, 2 truck payments to be made before they come and get it (has been for sale as well), electric, house phone, internet (for alternate contact), and our property tax is due...

We are only in this tight spot temporarily, and I am positive that this is only a short term setback until I get some miles in my new job under my belt and can resume caring for my own family.

I humbly ask, and with great embarrassment, that if you can, PLEASE help us in whatever way you can, even the smallest of help adds up to saving my family from a total loss.

If you are not personally able to help,  I ask that you please share this with your friends and ask them to help too.

Thank you.
