Our space is in need of your help. We are about to lose this rare beacon of community expression. As expected the entities that are uncomfortable around Santa Ana's marginalized and criminalized communities are actively attempting to shut us down. Graffiti, punk rock, ska pits, powerful poetries, culture and expression are once again under attack and we need your help.
The place is Sanctuary Sound, a safe space for dangerous sound. We are considered dangerous for expressing ourselves but why? Our communities are faced with a lack of artistic creative spaces that reflect the community we live in. Much of this is due to the mainstream reputation stamped on the disenfranchised and oppressed communities. But this label is not the reality.
Our working class communities find amazing creative and ingenious ways to create from our experiences using art, music, dance and the power of our words.
We started this tremendous task almost a year ago and have had a great deal of succesful attendance to our events workshops and recordings. Once we are certified by the city we can officially begin to offer our space as a resource for our community.
Any donations will be rewarded accordingly with what we can offer. Free entrance to events, rehearsal space, recording services (audio and /or video), photoshoot, space for events and much more. https://www.facebook.com/sanctuarysound714/
We will be having a series of events in December and January to show case all of the talent that has came through our doors and have been a part of the space Saturday December 9th, 2017.
