Help Venezuela's Starving Children

A young couple gives their six-year-old daughter away to their neighbors because they cannot feed her any longer. A seven-year-old boy repeatedly faints in school because he has had nothing  to eat but a banana in several days. A starved ten-year-old child knowingly consumes a poisonous vegetable as food, which leads to his death. An HIV-positive mother is forced to choose between breastfeeding her newborn baby at the risk of spreading the virus, or not feeding her baby at all. She "chooses" the former. This is life for many of the children living in Venezuela today.

Whether due to lack of money or to lack of available goods, more and more Venezuelan parents are finding it difficult, if not impossible, to feed their children. Two thirds of households with children in Caracas report not having sufficient food, and teachers report an unprecedented decrease in school attendance due to malnutrition. 

These children need our help more than ever and I can't bear to sit on the sidelines any longer. Please help me raise money to  buy peanut butter, protein bars and formula to help feed these children. On my end, I promise to ensure that your money will be used to buy food that will be directly delivered to children in dire need. I will be collaborating with Fundana (an orphanage in Venezuela) to ship and distribute these food items to schools and nurseries around the country. One  jar of peanut butter, one protein bar, and one can of formula can make the difference between life and death. Let's make sure that more children go to sleep with their bellies full tonight.
